  • First, what are the main things to be aware of when it comes to dressing for Royal Ascot?

A formal daywear is a requirement in the Royal Enclosure. Indeed, the dresses and skirts must fall at least above the knee. Dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater and midriffs must be covered.

And of course, hats should be worn, this includes headpiece with solid base of four inches or more in diameter, but fascinators are not permitted.

  • You don’t want to wear a dress, here are some alternative.

Trouser suits and jumpsuits are nice alternative to a dress, furthermore it’s really trendy and you will be sure to be noticed.

Here are some rules to follow, first trouser suits should be of full length to the ankle. Finally, jumpsuits should fall below the knee.

  • What are the rules when it comes to headwear?

As said above, for the Royal Enclosure fascinators are not allowed and your hat or headpiece has to have a solid base of four inches or more. The hat is the first thing you notice so choose something elegant and that match with your dress, but mostly, choose a headpiece which suits you. As the famous Philip Treacy said “The personality of the wearer and the hat make the hat”.

Katherine Elizabeth Millinery offers some examples from her latest Spring-Summer 2019 collection to help you find the perfect hat. To be sure find the one that suits your dress as well as the shape of your face to shine a milliner will help you with this.

  • How to accessorize our outfit?

The Keyword is “Balance”, it means that if you’re wearing a large hat, only wear delicate jewels or you’ll look overloaded. As they say less is more and wearing an outfit with too much information will not highlight it.

We hope you have an amazing time and enjoy!
