It’s official: I’m a member of Walpole!

If you follow my Instagram, you’ll have seen the exciting news that I’m now a member of Walpole. A few weeks ago, I was even invited down to The Savoy to attend an event that was hosted by them which celebrated the V&A Director’s book on the founder of Wedgewood.

But what exactly does this new membership mean? And how do I feel about it? I explore exactly that in my latest blog.

Walpole: The Basics

For those of you who don’t know, Walpole is the official sector body for UK luxury. It was founded in 1992 and its members include more than 250 luxury British brands such as Jo Malone, Alexander McQueen and now Katherine Elizabeth Millinery.

Renowned as the voice of British luxury, Walpole’s main aim is to promote, protect and develop a luxury sector, and is destined to become a leader in sustainability.

Michael Ward, Chairman of Walpole, explained: “Britain’s luxury brands represent the very best this country has to offer - Walpole’s mission is to help these businesses realise their potential.”

Promote, Protect & Develop

The Walpole community provides members the opportunity to exchange best practice ideas, while promoting British excellence and driving business development. They do this by representing their members all over the world, helping to build networks, encouraging collaboration and providing the brands with expertise, insight and knowledge.

Designed to showcase British creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and sustainability, Walpole wants to highlight the best of what Britain can do. To be a part of this movement is a truly ‘pinch me’ moment…

Opportunities ahead…

I’m truly ecstatic about being a member of Walpole. After all, it’s the UK’s only business organisation for luxury brands. Sitting alongside names like Burberry and Chanel makes me immensely proud and I’ve already been invited to some incredible events.

This is just the start for Katherine Elizabeth Millinery and I’m hugely excited for you to experience this journey with me. For the latest updates and news, be sure to follow my Instagram where I’ll be posting behind-the-scenes pictures as well as my day-to-day goings on. In the meantime, if you’re near London’s Oxo Tower, why not pop in to have a chat?
