Mad Hatter's Couture!

Mad Hatters parties come in two packages, with the first being from £38 per person including materials and small trimmings. The second package is £55 per person, and includes premium fabrics and larger trimmings to make a more high-end couture piece. Both options come with expert tuition and a finished designer head-piece at the end!

Parties are normally booked in groups – for example, fashion-forward hen parties or glamorous birthdays. The minimum number of people we would accommodate is 8 and the maximum is 40.

We have a few small extras that you can add on to give your Mad Hatter party a more Alice in Wonderland feel. For an extra £10 per person, we will provide a vintage tea set and crystal jars. For £20 per person, we can provide sandwiches, cakes, and a couple of bottles of sparkling including the vintage tea set.

We could also provide our expert make up artist, Fiona Tanner, to make everyone feel special on the day. She is available at an extra £100.

We can hold the event in my studio or in a venue of your choice, i.e. a hotel, wine bar, private VIP room, or comfort of your own home. The event lasts from 2.5 to 3 hours.

Day Classes

Our creative, in-depth day classes, give you the time and understanding to create a full couture hat from concept to finished piece, using old-age millinery techniques. On the day we teach you how to block, wire, edge, and trim using beads, crystals, ribbons, fabrics and, feathers. This is fabulous if you have always wanted to learn about millinery, as well as creating a wonderful couture creation for a wedding or Ascot.

Private Tuition

Private tuition is available at £35 an hour, discounts apply if you book a block of 5 days training. On these days we cover bonnets, mother of the bride, felt trilby's, pill boxes, sculptural hats and headpieces.

MASTERCLASS - Cost £149

A day class in fascinators and sculptural felt hats, on the day you will learn all about how to create wonderful fascinators through, cutting, trimming, manipulating feathers, manipulating sinamay, you will also learn lots of new millinery techniques.

Time 10.30 till 4.30. - Held nearly every Saturday from mid January to the end of April,

21st of January 2012 - For a day class in headpieces / cocktail hats In this class you will learn how to block, wire, edge and trim using age old millinery tequniques.

Time 10.30 til 4.30

February the 11th and 12th 2012 - for our weekend classes in Sculptural Ascot hats - this class is a lot more in depth and your learn more about manipulating sinamay into amazing shapes as well as learn how to block, wire and edge.

Cost £190
Time 10.30 to 4.30 for the Saturday and Sunday.
